Best Companies To Work For In NH 2010 - BMA's 10th Year

Business NH Magazine held its first annual Best Companies To Work For In NH competition in 1997. Three years later, Bruce Mast & Associates, Inc. (BMA) became a working partner with the magazine on both enhancing and evolving the competition and in the actual managing of the process for the onsite visits. BMA's contribution includes:

  • Initiating the onsite visits as an integral part of the judging process.
  • Assembling the Assessment Teams and scheduling and facilitating the visits.
  • Creating the Hall of Fame for organizations who have won four out of five years and inviting their CEOs/Presidents to be the Lead Judges on the visits.
  • Developing the scoring criteria and assessment forms used for the onsite visits.
Each team of four - three members and a BMA Facilitator - will visit from two to four of the 20 semi-finalists, depending on the company size and its location. This year we thank the following senior leaders who are lending their time and expertise to the success of the process:

BMA and Granite State College Form Partnership

Granite State College (GSC) and Bruce Mast & Associates, Inc. (BMA) have formed a partnership to deliver BMA's proprietary Leadership Development programs. The two organizations serve a common constituency, the businesses in the State of New Hampshire, and share a common commitment to assist those businesses in building effective leaders.

Granite State College began as The College for Lifelong Learning and has a well-established reputation for providing highly relevant and accessible programs to adult learners across the state. It continues its focus on assisting adult learners in validating and informing their tacit knowledge and building workplace-relevant knowledge, which not only improves the prospects of the student by improving their value to current or potential employers.

Similarly, BMA has served the overall business community through our commitment to create and deliver leadership development programs that incorporate a deep understanding of how organizations function and inform, validate and inspire participants to engage and contribute at a higher level in their respective workplaces.

To this point, BMA's leadership development programs have been available to a relatively small number of NH businesses and in a relatively small portion of the state. GSC, on the other hand, has a state-wide presence but has not had the sort of leadership development offerings it needs to address the developmental needs of emerging and established managers. To that end, GSC will be offering BMA's Stepping Up To Leadership® and Leadership On The Line® programs to the business community across the state starting in April.
